Rushing out the door for work early in the morning can be even more of a struggle when we have to untangle necklaces, bracelets and earrings to find our favourite accessory to match our outfit for the day. These beautiful yet ingenious storage pieces add a touch of style to a practical concern, and would look great on top of your vanity or in your bathroom or powder room.
One of my favourite go-to home ware brands in Hong Kong, Establo Lifestyle Store stocks plenty of sought-after international labels such as Muuto and Hay. Muuto’s Dots wall hooks are made with top-class oiled oak and ash wood, and come in a range of different patterns and hues. Toss your belongings onto these lovely pieces, and the hodgepodge will look just like a carefully curated collection.
Hay’s beech Ad Manum hand exudes the natural beauty of wood. The hand-polished piece is a harmonious combination of nostalgia, aesthetics and craftsmanship. Its sleek and smooth design give you a nice little preview of what your rings would look like worn on your own hand before you head out for the day.
Simply stacking up all of my belongings can often be the most convenient way for me to organise them, but it’s definitely not the neatest. I can’t begin to say how excited I was when I came across this cute Topsy-Turvy jewellery box by Anthropologie. The intentionally mismatched drawers add a whimsical touch to the practical unit, which is perfect for thin and light accessories.
Another find from Anthropologie is the Vestige lipstick holder. The handmade brass piece is adorned with antique gold finish that evokes a sense of old world charm. What’s more? It comes with a tiered version to display your growing collection even better.
I love geometric design, and this Circles iron rack by House Doctor thoroughly meets my needs both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. I wouldn’t mind treating this purely as a wall decoration piece.
Shoving my necklaces into a drawer when I’m not wearing them seems to be such a waste; showcasing them on this simple Norm Collector jewellery stand from Menu is a much better idea. Available in black and solid brass, it comes with four arms for displaying necklaces, bracelets or earrings, a bottom tray and a small platform to hold rings and ear studs as well.
