Mark Your Calendars: Soul Food Bangkok’s Soho Pop-Up

The Bangkok hotspot is collaborating with Black Sheep Restaurants to bring soulful Thai flavours to Soho pop-up.

Black Sheep Restaurants, the group behind some of Hong Kong’s hippest eateries (including Chom Chom, Ho Lee Fook and most recently Maison Libanaise and Buenos Aires Polo Club), will be bringing a taste of Thailand to the heart of the city. Their new collaboration with Jarrett Wrisley’s Bangkok hotspot, Soul Food, is set take place from July 19 to July 23.

Since its opening in 2010, Soul Food has become one of Bangkok’s most talked about restaurants. Soul Food Hong Kong aims to incorporate the best of local Hong Kong produce into new dishes showcasing the diversity of Thai cuisine. Soul Food favourites including gang hang lay, a Burmese pork belly curry with pickled ginger and tamarind, and smoked duck larb, a twist on traditional Isaan larb, a fresh minced meat salad, will also be served.

Black Sheep co-founders Christopher Mark and Syed Asim Hussain are known for bringing unique and authentic dining experiences to Hong Kong. The avid travellers were inspired to share the rich flavours of Soul Food with a wider audience after experiencing the restaurant’s creative use of wholesome ingredients and traditional flavours for themselves.

Soul Food will be taking over 28-30 Elgin Street (previously the premises of Juhu Beach Club) for the duration of their stay.
